Cross-border investment projects constitute a key element of the strategy. Nevertheless, these projects are often undertaken country by country with insufficient cooperation among all actors involved in the process. Consequently, one of the most important factors to ensure the implementation of future successful cross-border projects of European interest is the governance and the involvement of key actors.

In this context, European regions that have set up cross-border institutional cooperation agreements could play a crucial role to promote successful transnational investment projects.

The European Region Tyrol- South Tyrol-Trentino has consolidated a long cooperation in different sectors due also to its strategic position in the Alps. In light of this consolidated cross-border cooperation the European Region in partnership with ERRIN will organise this lunch debate as a kick-off of a series of events on this innovative financing concept.
